I've had the pleasure of directly managing Riya for the past 9 months of her tenure on the design team at Granular. Riya is thoughtful, organized, and thorough in everything she does— whether it's preparing for a 1on1 or workshop, making a recommendation for new team tools, or delivering design work for her scrum team. Her past experience as an analyst and her graduate studies in HCI shine through in her work and have helped her grow quickly as an early-career designer. While on the team she has helped establish our new product design intern program, supported numerous scrum teams on critical projects, and is now tackling a large and complex design problem related to farm data management. She is a wonderful asset to any team!

Riya's a top-notch designer who brings experience and enthusiasm to every project she contributes to. She's happy to dig into highly technical assignments, and is able to handle both the design and project management aspects of the UX process. Riya is able to work independently, her deliverables are clear and accurate, and she actively seeks out collaborations with other designers and product stakeholders. Riya demonstrated flexibility and resilience in her internship with my team last summer, as state-wide Covid lockdowns forced us to reconfigure her internship at the last minute, requiring her to work fully-remote rather than in-person. Despite such challenges, every day she brought a great attitude, actively contributed in all of her Zoom sessions, enthusiastically presented her design proposals, and proved that she can work effectively even in unusual circumstances. I'm confident that Riya will be a stellar addition to any UX team that she joins.
